When We are Most Like Jesus

We’re all called to be like Jesus. What does that mean? In this week’s lesson, Richard dives into The Word to describe what it looks like when we become more like Him.

No Longer Scared to Death of Death

We are all familiar with physical death. To those who haven’t turned their lives over to God, it can be a horrifying ordeal when a loved one dies, or when faced with one’s own death. However, when we become part of The Kingdom, we no longer need to fear death.

God is at Work Within Us

We take a look at the tail end of Ephesians chapter 3. Paul finally concludes a prayer he started all the way back in chapter one. Is it worth the wait? Yes! The text that follows is a culmination of all that he’s said so far, and a wonderful introduction to what he’ll say in the next half of the book.

The Mystery, Mission, and Majesty of God’s Call

Being called by God is an amazing thing! What does it really mean though? In this week’s lesson, Richard dives into the Word to find out all about the awesome nature of being called by God!

What We’re Worth

Have you ever felt worthless? Have you ever felt like you don’t deserve to be loved by God? That may be true, but it doesn’t mean you’re not valuable in His eyes.  Romans 5:8 says this: “But God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” Let’s examine how valuable we truly are in God’s eyes.

Life, Liberty and the Pursuit Of…

Two questions: First, do you have struggles in life? The answer is obviously yes. Secondly, do you have Jesus? Hebrews 13:5 says, “Make sure that your character is free from the love of money, being content with what you have; for He Himself has said, “I will never desert you, nor will I ever forsake you,” Simply put, if we have Jesus, we have everything we need.

Called to Peace

The animosity that existed between Jews and Gentiles in the first century is legendary. Nothing could make peace between these people. Nothing, that is, until Jesus. We return to our study of Ephesians this morning to discover how Jesus brings these former enemies together. And if Christ can bring Jews and Gentiles together, surely, we can all live in peace.

Son of Shame

Life is full of ups and downs. As Jesus said in the Sermon on the Mount, “God sends rain to the righteous and the unrighteous.” No matter what your background, sometimes you will receive blessings and sometimes you’ll receive pain. How do you feel toward God during both moments? Do you feel shame when things get tough? Does your opinion on Him change based on the how blessed you are?

The Thief on the Cross

Today our lesson and our worship will focus on the heart of our faith: The cross of Jesus. The Bible makes it clear that we are all sinners and can never achieve righteousness on our own. Only by God’s grace can we be saved. And at the heart of that salvation is our faith, our trusting in the saving work of Jesus on the cross. At the Cross, Jesus was flanked by two other men. One was a thief; a sinner and a criminal. However, it was he who believed. Let’s find out more about why that is.

Godly Relationships: The Unmarried

This week we continue our look at Godly relationships and what God expects from us in our families. This lesson focusses on children and what the Word has to say about the relationship between parent and child. Children have a special role in the family and the church. Let’s find out all about it together.
